About

What is WWKiP Day?

It stands for World-Wide Knit in Public Day. Yarn crafters all over the world participate “together” by holding these WWKiP Days all on the same day world-wide. More information on the World-Wide Knit in Public Day can be found at the Official WWKiP Day site. (History of WWKiP Day)

Coincidentally, the WWKiP Day also falls on the same weekend as the LARAC June Arts Festival. Although I first thought that it would be a hinderence, I now believe it may be helpful! After all, what is a LARAC festival? Arts and crafts! Of course, we’ll be about 2 miles from the fracas, but still, there will be lots of vendors all over town… including those individuals who aren’t “professional” vendors… they sell out of their home, garage or front lawn.

The Glens Falls/Lake George Region is on the southern edge of the Adirondack Mountains and is a popular summer destination. To learn more about the area and to find information on accomodations, please visit www.visitlakegeorge.com. The site is run by Warren County Tourism Department, and promotes the entire region. Travel Guides can be requested from their site.

The following links are for directions to the park itself, when coming from the Adirondack Northway. (I-87)

  • If you are traveling north, on I-87, there are two options. I suggest Option 1 for less local traffic.
  1. Option 1: Exit 19
  2. Option 2: Exit 18

There is also a slightly altered map I copied from Google, and added a couple of points to it. It gives details of where we will meet within the park.

Here are a couple of images of the fliers I will be using. The one with the arrow is an example of what to look for when trying to find us.

  1. Flier
  2. Sign with Arrow

If you still need clarification on the directions, please contact me. I will either email you, or call you (if you provide a phone number) to help you get to the right place! events@yarntailsdesigns.org
